Harnessing the power of beliefs and perceptions to optimise work participation (ASORC webinar)

Our experience is consistent with the literature – that it is factors not related to an individual’s illness, condition or disability which determine whether they will remain at, return to, or obtain work. There are many ways to identify these factors. The greater challenge is how to address them. In conjunction with Monash University, MedHealth and IPAR have developed a unique program, Positivum, focused on assessing and challenging individuals’ beliefs and perceptions about their health and working. The emphasis is on self-reflection, improving health literacy and self-management, improving function, and building motivation for work.

This presentation will provide an overview of the science and evidence behind the approach, and a background to development. Application and results across a range of cohorts will be shared.
